Christ Church Today: Who We Are:
Churches are more than buildings, stained glass, pipe organs, and sermons. We have all those things at Christ Church. We have 15 inch stone walls in a massive 12 acre building. We have an enormous Nave, a glorious Casavant-Freres pipe organ worth 1.5 million dollars, a Music Ministry of dedicated, committed adults in voice choirs and handbell choirs. We have big kids and little kids. We have young couples and single college students. We have all colors of people. We have the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra that claims Christ Church as it's base and home. We have outreach programs that reach deeply not only into the community, but into the neighborhood. And much, much more. Drive by the church at anytime during the day or night and you will see our parking lots filled with activities of one kind or another.
DOES ANY OF THIS REALLY MATTER?
The answer is yes and no. We are grateful for the facilities we have and the programs and activities that we support. But the real answer is not an answer but a statement of our thanksgiving of what God does through us and all that we are blessed to have here at Christ Church. We worship God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We reach out to those whose souls are battered. We reach out to those who have lost their way in one way or another. We preach salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord to those who need Him. We love those who come to our doors in whatever state they find themselves in. We have a priest and his family who we dearly love and a staff that will drop anything they are doing to help someone in need. And we hold on to the truth that God will work through us to accomplish all that we do with the gifts He has given us. That is who we are.
So, when you come to us for whatever reason or need, you will find a lot of smiles, a lot of hugs and sometimes tears of joy or tears of sorrow. But know that you are always welcomed here with this church that is one big family and always looking for more members to join us on our mission.
Deep peace of the running wave to you,
Deep peace of the flowing air to you,
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,
Deep peace of the shining stars to you,
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you, for ever.
